LILITH - QUEEN OF SHADOWS

Lilith was mythologised as the first wife of Adam, who was banished from the Garden Of Eden and cast down into Hell. For centuries, she was a symbol of evil. But in recent decades, she has been redefined as a potent symbol of female independence and power. I wanted my depiction of her to embrace that power, but also her darkness.

For me, she is a queen of the shadow realm. A realm that empowers us.
